Knicks J.R. Smith Fined Over A Million Dollars For Missed Practices In China

According to NIUBBALL.com J.R. Smith was fined over $1 million for missed practices during his duration in China:

According to a report published by NetEase, Smith had US $1.06 million deducted from his salary over the course of the season for missing practices. Most of the missed practices came during pre-season while his team, Zhejiang Chouzhou, was getting ready for the start of the regular season. The sum was deducted from his salary, a final number that represented about one-third of his total salary.

Is this a real surprise?? No. The sharpshooting Smith has a history of missed practices when he was with the Denver Nuggets and Hornets' franchises, but a million dollar fine???? Seems pretty steep, especially granted that was 33% of his salary. Now, the fact he chose to sign with the New York Knicks, whom were offering him 3x more, than the L.A. Clipper, well it makes sense.

It's about those benjamins....

Until next time,

Mrs. NBA
